Undergraduate | Blogger | Software Engineer
I am a Software Engineering undergraduate studying at Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). I have skills and knowledge in computer science and enjoy being part of a team and also have good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. I am capable of communicating in English and Sinhala and enjoy working with wide range of people who currently seeking an opportunity in software engineering field to contribute my knowledge, skills and experience for the advancement of the company while studying and making myself grow with the industry.
Academic
I currently have a CGPA of 3.80 till end of 4th year 1st semester and managed to get two scholarships for having best grades in a semester. I am currently on Dean's list recognition list as well. On the verge of publishing final year research paper on an IEEE conference.
Experience
During my internship time at VirtusaPolaris (GTO-SI Research & Development Division) i have worked in 3 parallel projects, in which one project is based on web based APIs, and other two are standalone applications.
Awards and Recognition
Won a merit award in CodeFest 2015 Overnight Hackathon- Tertiary Category event. Dean's List and Scholarship awards and certificates.
Extra Curriculum
Since I was a committee member in Faculty of Computing Student Community of 16/17 ,I have had the opportunity to participate in organizing of various student events inside SLIIT. I have also was a member of the organizing committee of SLIIT CodeFest 2016,a national IT competition held annually.

About Me
I have managed to maintain a good GPA throughout my S.L.I.I.T years while been a prominent in faculty student community and even during internship at Virtusa. When i stopped all the extra curricualr activities and focused solely on academics, i finally, managed to get a pefect 4.0 GPA for the 4th year 1st semester.

Api Exchange
PNC Bank Hackathon: APIFest 2017 was the first project which I was assigned and It’s basically a website developed to host the event conducted by PNC Bank, USA. APIFest is a unique event where participants can put their creativity to the test, through technology, in a fast-paced competition to design and build solutions. Participants will form teams to tackle real-life problems PNC faces and use the APIs which are published on the site which we had created.

Tempo
It’s also already operational software inside Virtusa which is used as an deployment automating tool. Before a release comes we do a smoke test that comprises of a non-exhaustive set of tests that aim at ensuring that the most important functions work. The results of this testing is used to decide if a build is stable enough to proceed with further testing. Other than daily progress reports at the end of the day we have to report how many test cases executed and failed as well so that supervisor can keep track of progress.

This is a client-server system in which the Virtusa management has the ability to display their notices and other company info on large tv screens distributed throughout the Virtusa premises. This was an already operational system and the development team has started a new release and I was given the task to do the testing.

I like core java related technologies and working efficiency with Google and AWS related technologies. I've used Google OCR, OpenCv and Artificial Intelligenace Markup Language(AIML) in final year research project and also worked with AWS code-commit,EC2, S3 technologies and with WSO2 API Manager, Store and Identity Server. I also possess security related knowledge regarding OAuth, OpenID Connect, CSRF, Cookie and Session Management.Language Skills
